2026 Mid-Season Recaps & Milestones

Don River Dirty Doncers (4-2-0)

Nobody puts baby in a corner! The Dirty Doncers have leapt into the arms of the season with rhythm and palpable tension. Driven by their anchor Phill Morgan, the team has shimmied and shaked their way to a 4 win start – relying on a mix of veterans like Annelies, Devin, Krysta, Victoria, Terrance, Finn, Jenni, and Oskar – emerging stars in Natasha, Nell, Val, Mira, and Erica – and a handful of promising rookies in Cass and Robin. Sporting black for only the second time in team history, could this be a second curse breaker season or will Don have to wait until the bar lights go on and bleary-eyed lovers start pouring out of the club doors…for their second championship

Garrison Creek Green Bean (4-2-0)

The mighty edamames are going toe-to-toe with the Dirty Doncers to start the season, also claiming 4 wins in their first six games. With Robyn anchoring the team and Syd, Colin, and Sabrina crafting team strategy, the green beans are GOOD FOR YOUR HEALTH this season. Rich in the iron thanks to power from Soren, Andy, David, and Manjeet – filled with fast acting nutrients thanks to the speed and base running acumen of RT, Masha, and Liz – and bolstered by all the vitamins that Liz, Emma, and Lucy have to offer, Garrison will get an extra boost once Claire make her 2026 debut! Is this the year that the Green Beans climb to the top of the stalk?

Rouge River Rock Skippers (3-2-0)

As is their motto, the Rock Skippers have been “Livin’ la vida Roca” this season. Anchored by Cece, the team has been seismic in both offence and defence. Hitting hard like diamonds Kirsten, Johann, Em, Anto, and Yosnai have been tectonic in their trips to the plate. Mesmerizing like opalite Tee, Rebecca, Jenny, Jackie, and Mel have gleamed on the bases and in the field. Steady like anthracite, Kira, Sam, Jasper, and Emma have added leadership and direction to the team. Could this be the season that unlocks a fourth skip in the Rouge River championship lake?

Credit River Chaos (2-2-1)

If you know Field of Dreamers lore, you might recall that from 2013-2016 before the big bang that is Field of Dreamers, there existed a team called the Uncertainty. This team took as their logo the “Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle (see below) as its logo. Partly as a means of signalling the unpredictability of the team and partly as a nod to our queer/trans character. While the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle and Chaos Theory both deal with limits on predictability, they belong to completely different branches of physics and operate on different scales – and that scale is currently being measured by Anchor Darren on a squad bursting with talent. Featuring the meteoric hitting of Seb, Camie, Shannon, LJ, and Sudeep; the semisonic speed of Rhiannon, Olivia, Kai, and Purvi; the cosmic glow of Travis, Rae, Marty, Matías, and Claudia the Chaos is going to try to shake up the league and perhaps become back-to-back champions for the first time since the pandemic cancelled season!

Humber River Hot Dogs (0-5-1)

The hot dog is a perennially underrated ball park treat. Relegated to loonie dog nights and sitting in a bath of steamy water, the once beloved baseball delight has in recent years not had the respect it deserves. Anchor Karl however, has assembled the most stunning ingredients to return the hot dog to its rightful place atop the baseball food chain! Don’t be fooled by the 0-5-1 record, the Hot Dogs have lost all of their games by either 1 or 2 runs and have one of the most PACKED toppings caddy in league history. Like a little spicy hot sauce and you turn to Sara’s stunning defence. Delight in a sweet pickle and Joseph will definitely run into one. Fancy a dash of mustard then look no further than the running of Brianna! In the mood for something rich, well Christina, Maddy and Paula are offering depth to the lineup. Looking for that healthy probiotic sauerkraut well Sarah, Lauren, Emmi, and Kat are bringing that team spirit on the daily. Oh you’re into sharp onions, have you seen Zoë’s tenacity on the bases or Scout’s steady hits? Still like a little ketchup to mix in? Stu is always there squirting line drives from both sides of the plate! Is this the year that Humber is top dog?
