Dear Dreamers,

Another season has come to a close with new connections, possibilities, and promises of baseball futures ahead!

🏆 FINAL CHAMPIONSHIP NEWS 🏆

Dirty Doncers Capture the Frisbee

After an impressive performance filled with dips and twirls, the Don River Dirty Doncers 🕺 became the 2026 Champions! Their second championship in three seasons and a sign of the emergence of what was once rumoured by some as a cursed franchise! Congratulations as well to the Humber River Hot Dogs 🌭who boiled, grilled, steamed themselves from a long winless streak early in the season to sizzle their way to the championship game – and nearly take it home in a nailbiter of a game!

Credit River Chaos Stand Shoulder to Shoulder With Rouge River Rock Skippers

In a competitive and back-and-forth matchup, Rouge and Credit spread chaos on the diamond with rocks scattered across the pond! Reviewing the results, the Coordinating Committee has determined that the final will be recorded as a tie for third place between Rouge and Credit. This means both have won third place for 2026!

Why? At the end of the game, the umpires called “last batter.” After that player’s at-bat, another batter subsequently went up to the plate, and that at-bat produced the run celebrated as Rouge’s winning run. However, league practice is to honour the umpire’s rulings, and therefore the run scored after the umpire’s run is not counted.

The Coordinating Committee believe this decision respects the role of our umpires, is accountable to the rules and principles that hold our league together, and recognizes that sometimes we have to work through imperfect moments together. As Dreamers, we believe in learning from these moments and finding ways to fail better. As a league, we also celebrate ties!

Congratulations to ALL Dreamers teams for a great season, and thank you to everyone who made Sunday’s playoffs such a joyful and memorable day.
